Operates Fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters,
and drill presses. Uses hand torch or furnace to pre-heat workpieces.
Fits and welds metal parts together of steel structural items.
Main Responsibilities: Deliverables
Cut, roll, shape, bend, mould, spin, heat or hammer metal products to fabricate parts or
sub-assemblies.
Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment or computer
numerically controlled (CNC) machines.
Assemble parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding, bolting or
riveting.
Positioned, aligned, and secured parts and assemblies prior to assembly using
straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
Examined completed work for defects, and measured pieces with straightedges and
templates to ensure conformance with specifications; reported nonconforming material
to team leader for quality assurance.
Responsible for trouble shooting on fabrication projects ensuring all work is
defective free.
Ability to multi task and meet established goals and schedule.
Education Required:
Vocational or technical training.
Professional Certification.
At least 3 years gulf experience in steel structural fabrication work
related experience.
Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written
instructions.
Ability to maintain a variety of detailed and accurate records.
